FEED & SEED SPRING CROP 2008
At long last, Donald Miller, legendary guitar player of Borbetomagus, offers the undeserving world a spoonful of acoustic 12 string recordings. Known primarily for his electric work, whether in the aforementioned super group, the Donald Miller trio, his long running work with Rob Cambre in the Death Posture, or the underrated/obscure solo outing A Treatise on Morals, Miller has relegated his acoustic 12 string work to european audiences, and his fine parlor uptown, just off Magazine street. Although, there is hope for US audiences--Miller played several acoustic shows in 2007 with Jack Rose, and more to come with the likes of Tetuzi Akiyama. All but two of the tracks on this two disc set were recorded live to two track in a antebellum mansion in Asheville, North Carolina following Miller's Katrina evacuation from New Orleans. Disc 1 rides a wild pony through the sinking world of post-Fahey delta blues, while numero dos shows Miller returning to his sustained drone work using a combination of acoustic and amplified 12 string, treated with spices such as ebows, bowls, and all sorts of preparations and gris gris. It's taken a long time to get this far, but we are hoping to have this ready for April 2008.

In other news, Feed & Seed received honorable mention in the Wire's 2007 The Year in DIY, where reviewer Dave Keenan described us as "one of the best if one of the least heralded CD-R imprints."
Also, a track from christian psych compilation The Nativity Scene, compiled by Jeremy Pisani (Red Favorite, Black Sand Radio), and Feed & Seed's own Daniel Presnell, was selected for Rough Trade shops' Counter Culture 2007.
New CD-Rs in March from Von Bingen, Ed Yazijian, BCVCO and Colonizer, and when the dough comes rolling in, a monster lp from Hildegard.
